The Hellgate: London beta test for the online portion of the game is now open!
If you pre-order either the $49.99 standard or $59.99 Collector’s Edition packages are granted access to the game’s online beta which runs until October 7th. In addition players that pre-order will receive exclusive armor dyes for their in-game characters and be eligible to purchase a lifetime subscription to the game for $149.99.
After initially purchasing the game, Hellgate: London’s single-player campaign can be played for free, but if you want to play the game online you can upgrade to an “Elite” subscription for $9.95 a month which gives the game MMO functionality.
Hellgate: London is being jointly published by EA and Namco Bandai and developed by Flagship Studios. The game is a post-apocalyptic RPG developed by much of the old Blizzard team that made cult-classic Diablo, and is a sort of follow-up to that great title. Gameplay-wise it melds face-paced shooters with components of role-playing games.
Hellgate: London is rated M for Mature and horrorify store shelves on Halloween (October 31st) in the US and South East Asian countries. It hits Australia on November 1st and Europe on November 2nd.
